Microperforated plate muffler is a muffler with a lined microperforated plate structure. It can eliminate airflow noise over a wide frequency range and has high temperature resistance, oil resistance, and corrosion resistance. Even if there is a large amount of moisture in the airflow, it does not affect the work.
Due to the small perforation diameter and smooth surface, the resistance loss of the muffler is smaller than that of a general resistive muffler. If the flow rate is 20m/s, the resistance loss of a 2m long straight through micro perforated plate muffler does not exceed 19.612Pa. The acoustic impedance (nonlinear impedance) of perforations is related to sound pressure and airflow velocity, and these effects should be taken into account when designing microporous plate mufflers. Microplate silencers are commonly used in blower exhaust, air conditioning systems, gas turbine exhaust, aircraft engine test room exhaust, intake ducts for jet engines, internal combustion engine intake and exhaust, etc. The perforation diameter of these mufflers is often equal to or less than 1mm, but they are also commonly referred to as microporous plate mufflers.
Microperforated plate mufflers are generally made of pure metal thin plates with a thickness of less than 1mm. Drill holes with a diameter of less than 1mm on the thin plates, with a perforation rate of 1% to 3%. By selecting different perforation rates and chamber depths with varying plate thicknesses, the spectral performance of the muffler can be controlled to achieve good noise reduction within the required frequency range.
